Key Responsibilities
- Preparation & Setup: Complete mise-en-place (table setup, stocking condiments, folding napkins) and ensure the service area is spotless.
- Guest Relations: Welcome guests, assist with menu selections, and use product knowledge to up-sell specials and pairings.
- Order Processing & Delivery: Relay accurate orders to the kitchen/bar, deliver food and beverages promptly, and execute proper serving etiquette.
- Table Maintenance: Clear plates and glassware between courses, replenish water, and reset tables for new customers.
- Billing & Payments: Present accurate bills, process payments, and thank guests for their patronage.
- Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper food handling protocols.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding communication and a customer-centric attitude to resolve complaints and build rapport.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long shifts, walk continuously, and carry trays with multiple plates or heavy items.
- Product Knowledge: Strong familiarity with menu items, ingredients, and basic food and wine pairings.
- Certifications: Basic food safety, alcohol-serving certifications, and hygiene certificates are frequently required or preferred.
