Job Summary
Responsible for machine assembly as per engineering drawings, ensuring proper fit, tolerances, quality standards, and efficient shop-floor workflow.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Read and understand assembly and engineering drawings accurately.
- Assemble machines, components, and sub-assemblies as per drawings and specifications.
- Plan and estimate the manufacturing process and sequence for components.
- Plan the time, manpower, and process requirements for sub-assembly and machine assembly.
- Develop and follow assembly/manufacturing workflows to ensure smooth shop-floor operations.
- Ensure proper fits, tolerances, alignment, and quality during assembly.
- Knowledge of M.S. and S.S. sheet-metal fabrication and welding standards.
- Use and handle quality inspection instruments such as Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, etc.
- Identify assembly issues and coordinate with production/design teams for corrective action.
- Maintain proper shop-floor management, work sequence, and production discipline.
- Ensure machines and assemblies meet required quality and performance standards.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, and servicing at customer sites when required.
- Follow company safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Management from time to time.
Key Skills
- Strong assembly drawing reading skills.
- Good understanding of machine design and machine working principles.
- Knowledge of fits, tolerances, welding, and sheet-metal fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with quality measuring instruments.
- Ability to plan assembly processes, workflows, and timelines.
- Good shop-floor coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel for machine installation and servicing.
Qualification & Experience
· Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
· Experience
1–3 years of experience in machine assembly/manufacturing preferred.
