About the Role
Safar.pe is looking for a Business Development Manager with strong exposure to passenger fleet operations, corporate mobility, employee transportation, car rental, or fleet technology.
This is not a traditional software sales role. We are looking for someone who understands how fleet businesses actually operate—from receiving bookings and allotting vehicles to managing drivers, closing duties, collecting duty slips, billing customers, handling vendors, tracking receivables and managing day-to-day fleet operations.
The candidate will be responsible for identifying fleet businesses, understanding their operational challenges, demonstrating Safar.pe, converting qualified prospects into pilots, onboarding vehicles and users, and driving long-term paid adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and acquire fleet owners, car-rental companies, corporate cab operators, employee transportation vendors, and passenger mobility businesses.
- Build a strong sales pipeline through field visits, industry networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, and strategic partnerships.
- Meet fleet owners, founders, operations heads, transport managers, and key decision-makers.
- Understand the prospect’s complete workflow, including booking, duty creation, vehicle allotment, driver assignment, tracking, duty closure, billing, vendor payments, and receivables.
- Conduct consultative product demonstrations based on the prospect’s actual operational challenges.
- Position Safar.pe as an operational technology platform rather than a generic software product.
- Convert qualified prospects into pilot accounts and paid customers.
- Coordinate onboarding of vehicles, drivers, customers, vendors, and operational masters.
- Work closely with the implementation and support teams to ensure successful customer activation.
- Track product usage and identify low-adoption accounts requiring intervention.
- Expand active vehicle subscriptions within existing customer accounts.
- Maintain accurate lead, meeting, demo, proposal, follow-up, conversion, and activation data.
- Collect structured market intelligence and competitor feedback.
- Share customer requirements and operational insights with the product and management teams.
- Represent Safar.pe at fleet, mobility, transport, travel, and technology industry events.
Required Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in B2B sales, fleet operations, corporate mobility, employee transportation, car rental, mobility technology, GPS/telematics, or fleet management software.
- Strong understanding of passenger fleet operations.
- Experience dealing with fleet owners, transport vendors, operations managers, corporate mobility teams, or car-rental companies.
- Ability to understand operational workflows and translate business problems into technology solutions.
- Strong field-sales and relationship-building capability.
- Comfortable conducting software demonstrations and commercial discussions.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Strong communication skills in English and Hindi. Regional language capability will be an advantage.

Success in this role is not measured only by signed customers. It is measured by the number of fleet businesses that actively adopt Safar.pe, onboard vehicles, use the platform in daily operations, convert into paid subscriptions, and expand their usage over time.
The right candidate should be equally comfortable sitting with a fleet owner in their office, understanding an Excel-based operational process, demonstrating technology, negotiating commercials, and supporting the customer through adoption.
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Mumbai, Maharashtra (Mumbai)
