Job Title: Librarian
Department: Library
Reports To: Principal / Dean / Management
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the nursing college library, including books, journals, e-books, and research databases.
- Catalog, classify, and organize library resources according to established standards.
- Assist students, faculty, and researchers in accessing academic and clinical information resources.
- Maintain circulation records, issue and receive library materials, and manage overdue items.
- Support literature searches and reference services for nursing education and research activities.
- Coordinate subscriptions and renewals for nursing journals, periodicals, and online databases.
- Conduct library orientation programs for new students and faculty members.
- Ensure a quiet, organized, and student-friendly learning environment.
- Prepare library usage reports and maintain accurate inventory records.
Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc)
Experience
- 2 years of experience in library management, preferably in a college or university.
- Experience in supervising library staff and managing academic resources.
Skills
- Knowledge of library automation systems
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Good communication and coordination with faculty and students
