Job Decription of Service Advisor:-
A Service Advisor in the automobile industry acts as the primary liaison between customers and technicians, facilitating vehicle service, repairs, and maintenance. They greet customers, diagnose service needs, prepare detailed repair orders (ROs), provide cost estimates, coordinate with workshop staff to ensure timely delivery, and handle customer communication and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
· Customer Interaction: Greet clients, listen to issues, perform walk-around vehicle inspections, and explain technical repair jargon in simple terms.
· Workflow Management: Schedule service appointments, track progress in the shop management system, and coordinate with mechanics to meet deadlines.
· Estimating & Sales: Develop cost estimates for parts and labour, obtain customer approval for repairs, and advise on preventative maintenance, warranties, and additional services.
· Quality Control & Delivery: Perform final check-ups, ensure vehicle cleanliness, explain the final invoice, and manage customer pick-up to ensure satisfaction.
· Documentation: Create, update, and manage job cards, repair orders, and vehicle history records
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Education: A diploma or certificate in automotive technology is preferred.
· Experience: 1–3 years of Experience as a Technician (Car Mechanic) or an automotive service environment is common.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive systems to effectively communicate with technicians.
- Soft Skills: Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Other: Proficient in using computer systems (MS Office), ability to multitask, and a valid driver's license
Salary Range:-
- Salaries often range between ₹15,000–₹30,000 per month, depending on experience and location, frequently with added benefits.
