Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Mathematics
Board: ICSE/ISC (CISCE)
Reporting To: Principal
Job Summary
The PGT Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for teaching Mathematics to students of Classes XI and XII (ISC) and supporting Classes IX and X (ICSE) when required. The role involves delivering high-quality instruction, ensuring conceptual clarity, developing analytical and problem-solving skills, and preparing students for Board examinations and competitive examinations. CISCE requires ISC teachers to possess a postgraduate degree in the subject they teach along with a recognized teacher-education qualification.
Educational Qualifications
- Masters in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (Mandatory).
- Additional certifications, NET/SET, Olympiad mentoring experience, or curriculum development experience will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics to ICSE and ISC students as per CISCE curriculum and guidelines.
- Prepare annual lesson plans, unit plans, worksheets, assignments, and assessments.
- Develop students' conceptual understanding and application-based learning.
- Prepare students for ICSE/ISC Board Examinations and competitive examinations such as JEE, Olympiads, etc.
- Conduct periodic assessments, analyze performance, and provide remedial support.
- Evaluate answer scripts and maintain academic records and progress reports.
- Integrate technology, smart boards, and digital learning resources into classroom teaching.
- Organize Mathematics-related activities, quizzes, exhibitions, and clubs.
- Participate in PTMs, staff meetings, training programs, and school events.
- Maintain classroom discipline and foster a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience in ICSE/ISC, CBSE, or reputed schools.
- Experience teaching Classes XI & XII preferred.
- Proven track record of excellent board examination results.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong subject knowledge in Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Probability, and Statistics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong classroom management and student mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in ICT-enabled teaching and smart classroom tools.
- Ability to prepare students for board and competitive examinations.
- Result-oriented and student-centric approach.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience as Subject Coordinator, Examiner, or Academic Head.
- Exposure to curriculum planning and assessment design.
- Ability to conduct teacher training and academic workshops.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
