Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the quality of sheet metal fabricated components and assemblies through inspection, process control, documentation, and continuous improvement. The role involves monitoring incoming materials, in-process fabrication activities, and final products to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect raw materials, sheet metal components, and fabricated assemblies.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauges, and measuring tapes.
- Inspect fabrication processes including:
- Laser cutting / CNC cutting
- Shearing
- CNC bending / press brake
- Punching
- Welding
- Grinding and finishing
- Powder coating / painting, where applicable
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Reports, First Article Inspection (FAI) reports, and Final Inspection Reports.
- Perform in-process and final inspections as per Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Identify, document, and control non-conforming products.
- Raise and follow up on NCRs, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Analysis.
- Monitor welding quality and coordinate with welding inspectors where required.
- Verify surface finish, burrs, scratches, dents, weld appearance, and dimensional accuracy.
- Ensure proper calibration and usage of measuring instruments.
- Maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Promote continuous improvement and reduction of rejection and rework.
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and applicable standards.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
