To analyze and record the quality and quantity of incoming potatoes and other raw materials from either the farm, stores or market. To supervise and control the logistics on the incoming potatoes and other raw materials ensuring that the incoming goods are handled correctly and are supplied to plant in proper stock rotation and in best hygienic conditions. Ensure that a high quality service standard is rendered to both farmer/supplier and factory.

RECEIVING & GRADING OF RAW MATERIAL
Ø All vehicles delivering potatoes/other raw materials/packaging materials are weighed in and out as per standard procedures and all relevant physical / electronic documentation is completed.
Ø Check that all supplying vehicles that arrive in company premises, must comply with the company’s raw material specification requirements i.e. Potatoes are covered and only three trucks on site at the one time.
Ø Take the necessary samples as laid out per the QC procedure.
Ø Perform adequate testing parameter’s like oil FFA, length, tuber count, GSM, color of oil, defects etc required by QC procedure.
Ø Grade all potatoes/other raw material/packaging materials as laid out by the QC sampling procedure, record information onto all relevant physical and electronic documentation.
Ø Ensure all information is checked twice for errors and that stock is balanced both physically and electronically.
Ø Hold / accept / Reject the materials as necessary.
Ø Once potatoes have been graded and are acceptable then trucks must be off loaded as quickly as possible.
Ø There must be no unnecessary delays with vehicles, if potatoes are rejected while following the appropriate procedure.
Ø Organize labor and arrange to off load into the raw feed storage area.
ISSUING OF POTATOES / OTHER RAW MATERIAL TO PRODUCTION
Ø Ensure that the appropriate grade potatoes / other raw material / Packaging Materials have been selected to meet the required finished product specification.
Ø If any changes in quality then communicate with the QC and Production Executive.
Ø Communicate with the purchase executive, store manager, production manager, and quality manager if there is any rejection or hold made with raw material / packing materials Ensure labor is feeding potatoes at the correct speed no under / over – feed.
Ø Communicate with the suppliers if frequently receiving complaints regarding quality of raw material.
Ø Enter the data in infinity (raw potato).
Ø Prepare the Rejection / Acceptation note for all raw materials/ packing materials.
NEATNESS OF WORKPLACE
Ø Ensure that the walls, walkways and floors are clean at all times during production.
Ø Ensure that the equipment in receiving area is clean at all times.
Ø All waste is disposed of in the correct containers and is removed / emptied into the appropriate waste areas.
Ø Ensure that the raw material and packing material is stored in best hygienic conditions.
Ø Frequently supervise the area of storage for raw materials / packing materials regarding cleanliness and 5S implementation.
Ø Conduct GMP trainings to contract labor.
MAINTENANCE & GENERAL DUTIES
Ø Assists with engineers during break downs.
Ø During break times staff will be required to cover other operators.
Ø Carryout daily checks on the condition of the raw feed area section.
Ø Report any defects in equipment performance to the Supervisor.
Ø Carryout simple adjustments to keep equipment running at optimal efficiency.
Ø Replace consumable parts as required and any other duties deemed reasonable.
Ø To perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by the QC Manager or Production Executive
SAFETY
Ø Ensure all equipment / motor covers are fitted securely.
Ø No loose wires or electrical panels are open to the environment (Only engineers have access to electrical panels).
Ø All floors are kept dry to minimize slips.
Ø All staff in the peeling area is wearing Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
OTHER DUTIES
Ø Perform Finished product testing parameters in absence of finished product chemist.
Ø Perform microbiological testing’s in absence of microbiologist.
Ø Send samples for outsource testing’s in regular intervals.
Ø Calibrate instruments in-house.
Ø Add new procedures, work instruction, formats in QA procedures.
Ø Evaluate Supplier performance in frequent intervals
