Role Purpose
The Head – Finance is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health, including financial reporting, compliance, taxation, audit, and strategic financial planning. The role ensures accurate financial management, regulatory compliance, and provides insights to support business decisions and growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Oversee preparation of financial statements as per applicable accounting standards (Ind-AS/GAAP)
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing
- Monitor P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Strengthen accounting systems and internal controls
2. Audit & Compliance Management
- Lead statutory audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with auditors and ensure timely audit completion
- Ensure adherence to Companies Act, tax laws, and financial policies
- Maintain audit readiness and documentation
3. Taxation (Direct & Indirect)
- Manage GST, TDS, and income tax compliance
- Ensure timely filing of returns and handling of tax notices
- Oversee transfer pricing documentation and reporting (3CEB, 3CA/3CD)
- Optimize tax planning strategies
4. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights for decision-making
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Identify cost control and profitability improvement opportunities
- Support management with strategic financial inputs
5. Accounts & Reconciliation Management
- Ensure accuracy in ledger management and reconciliations
- Oversee customer/vendor accounts and financial records
- Strengthen financial data accuracy and reporting systems
6. MIS Reporting & Data Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial MIS reports
- Track key financial metrics and business performance
- Automate reporting processes for efficiency
- Provide actionable insights to management
7. Team Management & Leadership
- Lead and manage finance and accounts team
- Monitor team performance and productivity
- Provide training and guidance on accounting and compliance
- Drive accountability and process improvements
8. Business Valuation & Strategic Support
- Prepare financial models and valuation reports
- Support strategic decisions with financial insights
- Analyze investment opportunities and business expansion plans
9. Process Improvement & Automation
- Implement automation in financial reporting and compliance
- Improve internal processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure adoption of ERP systems and financial tools
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be evaluated against, but not limited to, the following metrics:
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Successful completion of audits without major observations
- Compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- Reduction in financial discrepancies and errors
- Efficiency in month-end closure process
- Cost optimization and profitability improvement

Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- 5–10 years of experience in finance, audit, and taxation
- Experience in handling corporate audits, compliance, and financial reporting
- Experience in distribution/retail industry preferred
