Splenta is building a cross-platform application runtime and agentic software platform spanning desktop, mobile, edge and enterprise environments.
Our engineering work includes a Rust-based runtime, GPU-accelerated UI rendering, JavaScript engine integration, native platform APIs, application packaging and developer tooling.
The Role
We are looking for a Rust Systems Engineer to help build and improve our cross-platform runtime and rendering infrastructure.
You will work on technically challenging problems involving graphics, operating-system integration, memory management, performance, concurrency and interoperability between Rust and native platform technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain systems-level components in Rust
- Build and improve GPU-accelerated rendering and UI infrastructure
- Integrate JavaScript engines and native libraries with Rust
- Develop cross-platform abstractions for macOS, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS
- Implement native capabilities such as files, networking, databases, camera, microphone, audio and video
- Design safe and maintainable FFI boundaries between Rust and C, C++, Java, Kotlin, Swift and JavaScript
- Diagnose crashes, memory leaks, rendering issues and performance bottlenecks
- Improve runtime performance, startup time, binary size and resource utilisation
- Build asynchronous and concurrent systems
- Write tests, benchmarks and technical documentation
- Collaborate with platform, frontend, mobile and AI engineering teams
- Own complex technical components from design through production release
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Rust
- Good understanding of ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits and generics
- Experience building production-grade systems or performance-sensitive software
- Experience with asynchronous Rust using Tokio or similar runtimes
- Understanding of concurrency, multithreading and synchronization
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Practical working knowledge of C or C++
- Experience integrating Rust with native libraries through FFI
- Understanding of memory management and resource lifecycles
- Strong knowledge of systems programming fundamentals
- Experience with Git and modern software-development practices
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be valuable:
- wgpu or another graphics abstraction
- Vulkan, Metal, DirectX or OpenGL
- Graphics engines, game engines, browser engines or UI frameworks
- Windowing and input systems such as winit
- Text rendering, font shaping, SVG, layout or 2D graphics
- V8, JavaScriptCore, QuickJS or other embedded JavaScript engines
- Android NDK, JNI, AOSP or native Android development
- Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin or Java
- Multimedia frameworks such as GStreamer, AVFoundation or MediaCodec
- WebSockets, SSE, HTTP/2 or other real-time networking technologies
- SQLite or other embedded databases
- LLVM, compilers, interpreters or virtual machines
- Robotics, simulation or real-time systems
Prior experience with wgpu is useful but not mandatory. Engineers with strong Rust systems experience and exposure to another graphics API or engine are encouraged to apply.

Pay: ₹1,400,000.00 - ₹1,800,000.00 per year
