Job Summary
The Electrical Maintenance Incharge is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment in the chemical manufacturing plant. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, statutory compliance, team management, and continuous improvement of electrical reliability while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all electrical installations including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, MCCs, PCCs, VFDs, UPS, and lighting systems.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Ensure safe electrical operations in hazardous chemical plant environments (flameproof / intrinsically safe systems).
- Supervise and guide electrical technicians and contractors.
- Handle power distribution, load management, and energy optimization.
- Ensure compliance with Electrical Inspectorate, Factory Act, PESO, and other statutory norms.
- Maintain electrical drawings, SOPs, PM schedules, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with production, utility, instrumentation, and safety teams.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, starters, PLC panels, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Oversee new installations, modifications, and shutdown activities.
- Ensure availability of spares and inventory control.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
- Support ISO / EMS / OHSAS / GMP audits as applicable.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HT/LT systems and chemical plant safety requirements
- Hands-on experience with flameproof equipment
- Motor control, VFDs, soft starters, and power quality
- Electrical troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Knowledge of statutory and safety compliance
- Team leadership and contractor management
- Basic knowledge of PLCs and instrumentation (preferred)
Preferred Experience
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, pharma, or process industries
- Exposure to hazardous area classification
- Experience in shutdown planning and execution
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
