Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, with a focus on vessel operating costs, freight revenue, and voyage accounting.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure strict adherence to GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other relevant fiscal regulations. Manage filings specifically related to port charges, customs duties, and maritime international trade compliance.
- Cost Management: Monitor voyage-wise profitability, analyse fuel consumption costs, maintenance expenses, and port handling charges to suggest cost-saving measures.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors; manage the preparation of audit schedules and resolve any financial discrepancies.
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Manage cash flow requirements for vessel operations, ensure timely processing of vendor payments (ship chandlers, port authorities), and handle foreign currency fluctuations.
- Statutory Filings: Oversee all statutory requirements related to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and local maritime board regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a valid ICAI membership.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within the Shipping, Maritime, or Logistics industry.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Deep understanding of accounting standards (Ind AS).
- Expertise in ERP software (e.g., Tally Prime, SAP, or industry-specific maritime software).
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: Practical knowledge of port operations, demurrage/dispatch calculations, and shipping freight billing cycles.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
