Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HVAC BIM Designer / Modeler with 3–10 years of hands-on experience in HVAC BIM modeling and coordination. The candidate will be responsible for developing accurate and coordinated HVAC models, preparing construction/shop drawings, resolving clashes, and supporting BIM project deliverables using Autodesk Revit MEP and Navisworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed HVAC BIM models using Revit MEP based on design drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Model HVAC ducting, chilled water piping, equipment, air terminals and associated components.
- Prepare HVAC layouts, sections, details, schedules and shop/fabrication drawings.
- Coordinate HVAC systems with Architecture, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Fighting services.
- Perform clash detection and resolution using Navisworks.
- Maintain project BIM standards, naming conventions, worksets and LOD requirements.
- Extract quantities, schedules and other required information from BIM models.
- Review models for accuracy, constructability and coordination before submission.
- Incorporate design revisions and maintain model/document version control.
- Coordinate with BIM Coordinators, Design Engineers and other discipline teams.
- For senior candidates, independently handle assigned HVAC packages and guide junior BIM modelers.
Required Technical Skills
- Revit MEP – Mandatory
- AutoCAD – Mandatory
- Navisworks Manage – Mandatory
- Strong understanding of HVAC BIM modeling and coordination.
- Knowledge of ductwork, chilled water piping, AHU, FCU, chiller, ventilation and exhaust systems.
- Knowledge of LOD 300/350/400 and BIM coordination practices.
- Knowledge of Revit families, worksets and model linking.
- Ability to read and understand HVAC design drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE/SMACNA standards will be an advantage.
- Experience in international/GCC projects will be an added advantage.
Mandatory Tool Test
All shortlisted candidates must undergo a practical BIM tool test.
