Oversees commercial, residential, or industrial plumbing projects from initial design and budgeting through to final inspection and handover. Bridge the gap between engineering designs, field operations, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Estimation: Reviewing blueprint schematics, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) designs, and technical specifications. Preparing accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and cost estimates.
- Site & Execution Management: Scheduling and overseeing daily site operations, ensuring Public Health Engineering (PHE) comply with local building codes and quality standards.
- Contractor & Vendor Liaison: Coordinating with sub-contractors, managing labor productivity, and tracking vendor material deliveries to prevent timeline bottlenecks or supply chain delays.
- Financial Oversight: Monitoring project cash flow, managing variations or change orders, approving progress billing, and keeping the project strictly within budget.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Enforcing strict safety protocols on site to mitigate risks, and conducting regular quality checks to ensure zero leaks, correct pressure testing, and proper drainage slopes.
Key Skills Required
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of plumbing systems and material specifications, material takeoffs as per site condition without errors and wastage, pipe sizing, water distribution systems, drainage networks, and fire hydrant/sprinkler systems.
- Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read, interpret, and modify complex engineering drawings and shop drawings.
- Software Familiarity: Experience with project management tools (like MS Project or Primavera) and estimation/design software (like AutoCAD or Revit).
- Communication & Negotiation: Clear verbal and written skills for managing disputes with contractors, updating stakeholders, or drafting formal notices.
Typical Qualifications & Background
- Education: A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 15+ years experience in plumbing execution, 3-5 years in management role.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
