- Role Overview
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Snowflake/dbt Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, dbt and Advanced SQL, with experience developing scalable ELT pipelines and migrating legacy data workloads to modern cloud data architecture.
- Key Responsibilities Develop scalable dbt models across staging, intermediate, ODS and consumption layers.
- Convert legacy SAP BODS, SQL and Informatica IICS transformation logic into dbt models.
- Design reusable dbt macros and transformation frameworks.
- Optimize Snowflake SQL performance and warehouse utilization.
- Implement modern ELT architecture and data transformation best practices.
- Create technical documentation, lineage and source-to-target mappings.
- Perform migration validation, reconciliation and data quality checks.
- Participate in code reviews and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with onshore technical leads and follow enterprise architecture standards.
- Required Skills
- 9+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Strong expertise in dbt development.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing and ELT architecture.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization.
- Good knowledge of Git and CI/CD.
- Experience working in Agile methodology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred Skills
- SAP BODS migration experience.
- Informatica IICS experience.
- Insurance domain knowledge.
- Understanding of Guidewire data model.
- Python experience.
- Exposure to Azure / AWS.
