Transaction Processing: Scan items, apply discounts, and generate accurate invoices, bills, and receipts using POS or billing software (such as Tally or Busy). [1, 2]
- Payment Handling: Receive payments via cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, and store financing schemes. Accurately count cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts. [1]
- Customer Service: Greet walk-in customers, address billing inquiries, and process returns or exchanges politely and efficiently. [1, 2]
- Inventory & Record Keeping: Reconcile daily sales and cash collections, prepare financial reports, and assist with stock verification or updating inventory. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Compliance: Ensure all billing data, including tax components like GST, is entered accurately and securely. [1, 2]
- Education: Minimum 12th pass; a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Business Administration is often preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer operations, MS Office, and dedicated billing/inventory software.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, active listening, and the ability to remain patient and polite during peak hours.
