Job Summary
The DGCP Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Dry Gas Cleaning Plant (DGCP) in the Sinter Plant. The role ensures effective dust collection, emission control, and uninterrupted operation of gas cleaning equipment while maintaining environmental compliance, plant reliability, and operational safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations
- Operate and monitor the Dry Gas Cleaning Plant (DGCP) during shift operations.
- Ensure continuous operation of the gas cleaning system to control dust emissions.
- Monitor process parameters such as gas temperature, pressure, differential pressure, and airflow.
- Coordinate with the Sinter Plant Control Room and production team to ensure stable plant operation.
- Maintain optimum performance of dust collection systems.
Equipment Monitoring
- Operate and monitor:
- Bag Filter System
- Pulse Jet Cleaning System
- ID Fans
- Dampers
- Screw Conveyors
- Rotary Air Locks
- Ash Handling System
- Dust Hoppers
- Air Compressors
- Check equipment condition and report abnormalities immediately.
- Perform routine inspections and operational checks.
Process Control
- Monitor differential pressure across filter bags.
- Ensure effective pulse cleaning cycles.
- Monitor compressed air pressure for pulse jet operation.
- Observe stack emission trends and report deviations.
- Ensure continuous ash and dust removal from hoppers.
Documentation
- Record operating parameters in shift logbooks.
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Report breakdowns, process deviations, and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain equipment inspection checklists.
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Follow all plant safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Comply with permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental emission standards.
- Maintain housekeeping in the DGCP area.
- Prevent dust leakage and unsafe operating conditions.
Qualification
- ITI (Fitter, Electrician, Instrumentation, Mechanical) or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
