Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented R&D Executive / Food Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in menu development, recipe standardization, SOP creation, food costing, and conducting food trials. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing innovative food concepts while ensuring consistency, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and standardize recipes for new and existing menu items.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Design and curate menus based on market trends, customer preferences, and business requirements.
- Conduct food trials, product tastings, and recipe testing to ensure consistency and quality.
- Prepare detailed recipe cards with standardized measurements and cooking procedures.
- Calculate food costing, recipe costing, and menu pricing to maintain target food cost percentages.
- Work closely with chefs and operations teams during menu implementation and product launches.
- Improve existing recipes for better taste, presentation, efficiency, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Research new ingredients, food trends, and innovative cooking techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in R&D, Food Technology, Product Development, or Menu Development within the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of SOP creation, menu designing, recipe development, food costing, and pricing.
- Experience in conducting food trials and product testing.
- Excellent understanding of kitchen operations and commercial food production.
- Good analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and recipe costing sheets.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cafés, restaurants, cloud kitchens, QSRs, or hospitality brands.
- Strong knowledge of ingredient sourcing and yield management.
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
