Job Summary
The Store Assistant is responsible for supporting the efficient receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of construction materials, tools, equipment, and consumables. The role ensures accurate inventory management, timely material availability, proper storage practices, and compliance with company procedures to support uninterrupted construction activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management
- Assist in receiving, unloading, and inspecting incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Verify material quantities, specifications, and condition before acceptance.
- Arrange and store materials in designated locations following proper storage practices.
- Maintain accurate stock records in manual registers or ERP systems.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist in monthly and annual inventory audits.
- Report damaged, expired, or obsolete materials to the Store In-Charge.
Material Issue & Receipt
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment based on approved material requisition slips.
- Ensure proper documentation for all material receipts and issues.
- Track the return of unused materials and reusable tools.
- Coordinate with site engineers and procurement teams to ensure timely material availability.
Store Operations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the store.
- Ensure proper labeling and identification of all materials.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the Store In-Charge of low-stock or fast-moving items.
- Assist in unloading, stacking, and handling materials safely.
Documentation
- Maintain records of Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), material issue slips, delivery challans, and stock registers.
- Update inventory records promptly and accurately.
- Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- File and organize store-related documents for easy retrieval.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety policies while handling materials and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage of hazardous or sensitive materials, where applicable.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during store operations.
- Support compliance with company inventory and audit procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in store or warehouse operations, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.
- Freshers with relevant training or internships may also be considered.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with construction materials such as cement, steel, electrical items, plumbing materials, paints, and hardware.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tally) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of stock documentation and inventory control procedures.
