The Principal is the chief academic and administrative officer of the Engineering College, responsible for providing strategic leadership, ensuring academic excellence, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of innovation, research, and student success. The Principal oversees all academic, administrative, financial, and operational functions of the institution while ensuring alignment with the vision and mission of the college.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for academic planning, curriculum development, and quality assurance.
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
- Monitor academic performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote outcome-based education and industry-oriented learning practices.
- Encourage faculty development, research publications, patents, and funded projects.
Administrative Management
- Oversee the overall administration and day-to-day operations of the institution.
- Supervise department heads, faculty members, and administrative staff.
- Develop and implement institutional policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective utilization of resources, infrastructure, and facilities.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with AICTE, UGC, University, NBA, NAAC, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate accreditation, ranking, and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain institutional records and documentation as per regulatory guidelines.
Student Development
- Foster a student-centric environment that promotes academic achievement and holistic development.
- Support student welfare, mentoring, placements, entrepreneurship, and extracurricular activities.
- Address student grievances and ensure a safe and inclusive campus environment.
Industry and Institutional Relations
- Establish partnerships with industries, research organizations, and academic institutions.
- Promote internships, industrial visits, training programs, and placement opportunities.
- Represent the institution in professional, academic, and governmental forums.
Financial and Resource Management
- Participate in budget planning and financial management.
- Ensure optimal utilization of financial, physical, and human resources.
- Identify opportunities for grants, collaborations, and institutional growth.
Strategic Planning and Development
- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for institutional growth.
- Lead initiatives for innovation, digital transformation, and academic excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement in rankings, admissions, placements, and research output.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University.
- First Class at Bachelor's or Master's level in Engineering/Technology.
- Qualifications and experience as prescribed by AICTE/UGC/University norms.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of teaching, research, and/or industry experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership position such as Professor, Head of Department, Dean, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in academic administration, accreditation processes, and institutional development.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
- The candidate must be a native of Kerala (Keralite).
Note
Only Keralite candidates will be considered for this position.
- Thorough understanding of the higher education landscape, regulatory framework, and industry-academia ecosystem in Kerala is preferred.
- Proficiency in English and Malayalam is desirable.
- Strong network with academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory bodies within Kerala will be an added advantage.
