About the Role
PressureJet Systems Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Manager – Procurement to lead its Supply Chain Management function. This role is accountable for ensuring Right Quality, Right Cost, Right Delivery, and Right Risk across all production, bought-out, jobwork, and asset purchases. The successful candidate will build a robust supplier ecosystem and drive measurable improvements across cost, delivery, quality, and compliance.

- Acts as a cross-functional integrator across PPC, Production, Quality, Engineering, Stores, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Strategy & Sourcing
- Map all commodities using the Kraljic matrix and define segment-specific sourcing strategies.
- Prepare annual category roadmap covering cost-down, lead-time reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier development.
- Identify critical/high-risk commodities and develop alternate sources and continuity plans.
2. Cost Management & Savings Delivery
- Lead negotiations and finalize rate contracts and long-term agreements with structured deviation control.
- Drive cost reduction through VA/VE initiatives with Engineering/Design, standardization, and competitive sourcing.
- Track, report, and present savings against targets on a monthly basis.
3. Delivery Assurance & Lead Time Reduction
- Improve supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) through planning, commitment discipline, and escalation protocols.
- Reduce lead times for critical items by improving supplier responsiveness and capacity alignment.
- Coordinate with PPC/Stores to prevent production shortages.
4. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Build, evaluate, and finalize suppliers based on capability, quality systems, delivery, and commercial competitiveness.
- Maintain minimum supplier strength per commodity to reduce single-source risk.
- Conduct periodic supplier performance reviews and implement corrective action and development plans.
5. Contract Management & Governance
- Negotiate and manage contracts covering supply terms, payment/delivery terms, warranty, penalties, and confidentiality.
- Ensure PO terms align with approved contracts and commercial policies; control deviations per approval matrix.
- Maintain complete contract and supplier documentation for audit readiness.
6. Quality, Compliance & Documentation
- Partner with Quality to reduce incoming rejections through supplier CAPA and process improvements.
- Ensure supplier documentation, material certificates, coating/HT compliance records, and traceability are maintained.
- Develop and enforce procurement SOPs: RFQ-to-PO cycle, supplier onboarding, evaluation, emergency purchases, and change control.
7. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead and develop a team of 4 procurement professionals; set targets, review performance, and build capability.
- Establish weekly/monthly review cadence with dashboards and clear accountability structures.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices, transparency, and strong stakeholder communication.
Scope of Procurement
The role manages an annual purchase value of approximately INR 18 Crores across 250–300 commodities, covering:
- Castings – critical pump and system cast components per BOM/specifications.
- Forgings – critical blanks and high-load components per drawings/specifications.
- Raw Materials – round bars, flats, plates, and special grades.
- Bought-Out Items – bearings, seals, O-rings, fasteners, fittings, gauges, sensors, hoses, filters, electrical accessories.
- Surface Engineering/Jobwork – coatings (GI and Electroless Nickel), heat treatment, ceramic plunger sourcing.
- Assets & Capital Purchases – AC, furniture, machinery, tools, and facility assets.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Cost savings/reduction (INR and %) and savings realization tracking.
- Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD %) and critical shortages reduction.
- Supplier quality performance – incoming rejection rate and ppm trend.
- Supplier scorecard completion, evaluation, and corrective action closure rates.
- Supplier base strength per commodity; single-source risk reduction progress.
- Lead time reduction for critical commodities.
- Contract coverage (% spend under rate contract/LTA) and deviation control.
- Procurement documentation and SOP compliance; audit non-conformance closure.
Skills & Competencies
Procurement & Commercial
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen; ability to execute high-impact negotiations.
- Contract drafting, clause understanding, deviation control, and repository management.
- Category management, strategic sourcing, and Kraljic matrix application.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and supplier development methodologies.
- Data-driven analytical thinking: should-cost logic, reporting, and decision-making.
Technical & Engineering
- Strong command of engineering commodities: castings, forgings, raw materials, and bought-out items.
- Working knowledge of heat treatment and coating processes (GI and Electroless Nickel).
- Understanding of ceramic plunger sourcing: handling, finish, packaging, and supplier capability.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications at procurement level.
Leadership & Behavioral
- Proven team leadership; ability to coach and hold a team of 3+ accountable.
- Structured problem-solving and escalation handling under production pressure.
- Clear stakeholder communication and disciplined reporting.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Education: B.E. Mechanical Engineering (minimum).
- Experience: 7+ years in procurement within engineering/manufacturing organizations.
- People Management: Minimum 3 direct reportees managed previously.
- Commodity Exposure: Handled 100+ commodities; 250–300 commodity environment preferred.
- Supplier Portfolio: Currently or recently managing 60–70 active suppliers with demonstrated SRM practices.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Industries: Elevator, DG set, Pharma machinery, Compressors/rotating equipment, or similar engineered products.
- Location: Gujarat (first preference), then West India.
- Demonstrated experience in casting, forging, raw material sourcing; coating and heat treatment vendor management; asset procurement.
- Profile: Structured, data-driven, stakeholder-oriented, and capable of running procurement as a governed business process.
