Job Description – Machine Repair & Maintenance Technician
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Machine Repair & Maintenance Technician to handle the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of machines and equipment used in our shop/workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect machines and equipment regularly to identify faults and maintenance requirements.
- Diagnose and repair basic mechanical and electrical issues.
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines.
- Troubleshoot machine problems and ensure minimum downtime.
- Perform regular servicing, lubrication, cleaning, and adjustment of machines.
- Replace or repair damaged parts when required.
- Coordinate with external technicians/service providers for major repairs.
- Maintain records of machine repairs, servicing, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure machines are operated and maintained safely.
- Keep necessary tools and maintenance equipment properly organized.
- Immediately report major machine issues or safety concerns to management.
- Support installation, shifting, and setup of machines when required.
- Follow workplace safety procedures while carrying out repair and maintenance work.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Fitter, or a related field preferred.
- Practical knowledge of machine repair and maintenance.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical/electrical problems.
- Previous experience in machine maintenance will be an advantage.
- Freshers with relevant technical knowledge may also apply.
- Physically fit and comfortable working with machinery.
- Responsible, punctual, and willing to learn.
Preferred Experience
Experience in industrial machinery, welding equipment, fabrication, hardware, workshop, or manufacturing environments will be an advantage.
