Job Summary
The Quality Control Engineer – Electrical is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and
compliance of all electrical installations across project sites. The role involves reviewing
drawings, conducting inspections, performing tests, maintaining QC documentation, and
ensuring that all electrical systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and
regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical design specifications, drawings, and quality assurance plans.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations including cables, panels, earthing systems, conduits, lighting, and related equipment.
- Perform dimensional checks and review material test certificates.
- Coordinate with TPI/Client/Consultants for inspections as per project requirements.
- Study manufacturing procedures and plan inspections for critical activities to avoid non-conformities.
- Maintain QC documentation, inspection reports, and records using ERP, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to QC processes.
- Collect and verify samples for electrical material testing and compliance checks.
- Conduct on-site electrical tests such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, loop impedance tests, lux level checks, functional testing of panels, etc.
- Use inspection instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, earth testers, anemometers (if required), and other QC tools.
- Inspect and approve incoming materials from vendors based on quality standards; work with vendors to resolve quality issues.
- Assist in supplier assessments and risk evaluations for electrical materials and equipment.
- Survey site conditions before installation of electrical systems and ensure work is executed as per standards and approved drawings.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a QC Engineer at a construction/industrial/MEP project site.
- Proven experience in quality control and inspection of electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Sound knowledge of tools and instruments used for QC checks (multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, etc.).
- Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and ERP systems.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying quality concerns.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
