Role Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Executive to manage sourcing, vendor coordination, and procurement operations for mild steel products. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the steel or metal industry and will ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Execution: Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply of HR coils, CR sheets, galvanized sheets, and other mild steel products.
Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers (e.g., Tata, JSW, and other vendors).
Cost Optimization: Monitor steel market trends, pricing fluctuations, and demand patterns to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize costs.
Order Processing & Coordination: Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, including purchase order creation, follow-ups, coordination with logistics teams, and ensuring timely material receipt.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure procured materials meet required quality specifications and company standards. Verify documentation such as test certificates and invoices.
Inventory Monitoring: Work closely with the sales and operations teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor databases, pricing comparisons, and prepare regular purchase and stock reports.
Collaboration: Coordinate with finance for payment processing and reconciliation, and align procurement activities with overall business goals.
Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 year of procurement experience in mild steel products or a related metal industry.
Technical Skills:
● Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems (e.g., Zoho) and MS Office applications
● Strong analytical and negotiation skills
● Ability to interpret steel specifications and quality standards Knowledge:
● Good understanding of HR coils, CR sheets, galvanized sheets, and steel procurement processes
● Awareness of steel market pricing and vendor networks Soft Skills:
● Strong negotiation and communication skills
● Attention to detail and organizational ability
● Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
● Strong coordination and teamwork skills
