As a faculty in Language Education, you will be teaching in the Master’s level programme in Education. The courses offered under this programme cover a wide range of aspects including language learning theories, engagement with literature in general as well as children’s literature in particular, language curriculum at various stages of schooling, policy imperatives and sociolinguistics.
Instruction will emphasise the nature of human language, the processes of language acquisition, and literacy instruction in the early grades. It will also focus on developing literacy skills across the curriculum, addressing multilingual contexts in India, teaching English in Indian schools, and exploring Indian literature and children’s literature.
Azim Premji University, Bhopal, started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.
In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing interdisciplinary programme design, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and participation in various institutional bodies. The University encourages and offers support to faculty members for pursuing their own research.
