Job Title: Welding Engineer
Location: Sonipat, Haryana
Qualification
- B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering.
- Certification or working knowledge of EN 15085 will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in welding engineering, welding coordination, or fabrication, preferably in the railway or heavy engineering industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EN 15085 welding requirements and applicable customer/industry standards.
- Prepare, review, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualification Records (WPQR).
- Coordinate all welding activities to ensure adherence to approved welding procedures and quality requirements.
- Monitor and optimize MIG, TIG, and Laser Welding processes.
- Coordinate welder qualification and ensure welding personnel are certified as per project requirements.
- Review and interpret Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports and ensure timely closure of quality observations.
- Identify welding defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain welding documentation, inspection records, qualification records, and traceability documents.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Project teams to ensure timely execution of welding activities.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party audits related to welding processes and documentation.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- EN 15085 welding requirements.
- Welding specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
- WPS, PQR, and WPQR preparation and qualification.
- NDT methods and interpretation.
- MIG, TIG, and Laser Welding processes.
- Welding defect analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Welding coordination in compliance with applicable standards.
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation.
