Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and market-focused Textile Designer to develop innovative and commercially viable textile designs for export markets, particularly Dubai (UAE), Sudan, and Mauritania. The candidate will be responsible for creating trend-driven prints, embroideries, placements, color stories, and collections aligned with regional customer preferences and market requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess strong design aesthetics, fabric knowledge, color sense, and a deep understanding of Middle Eastern and African fashion trends.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Product Development
Create original textile prints, embroidery concepts, placements, and surface ornamentation designs.
Develop seasonal collections based on market trends and customer requirements.
Design products across categories such as:
Abayas
Jalabiyas
Kaftans
Modest wear
Women's ethnic and fusion wear
Scarves and fashion accessories
Develop repeat patterns, engineered prints, borders, and placement artworks.
Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and collection themes.
Market Research & Trend Analysis
Research fashion, textile, and color trends relevant to:
UAE (Dubai)
Sudan
Mauritania
GCC Countries
Analyze competitor products and market demand.
Identify emerging trends in silhouettes, fabrics, embellishments, and color palettes.
Conduct online and offline market research to support product innovation.
Customer & Buyer Development
Understand buyer briefs and translate them into commercially successful designs.
Customize collections based on customer requirements and market preferences.
Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to develop buyer-specific collections.
Artwork & Sampling
Create production-ready artworks and technical files.
Coordinate with sampling and production teams for design execution.
Review strike-offs, sample developments, embroidery swatches, and fabric approvals.
Ensure design accuracy during sampling and production stages.
Fabric & Color Development
Develop fabric concepts suitable for target export markets.
Create seasonal color palettes based on regional preferences.
Work closely with sourcing teams to identify fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
Market Knowledge Requirements
Dubai (UAE) Understanding of premium and contemporary modest fashion. Knowledge of luxury embellishments, embroidery, stones, sequins, and elegant prints. Strong awareness of GCC fashion trends and customer preferences.
Sudan Understanding of traditional and contemporary women's apparel. Knowledge of vibrant color combinations, cultural aesthetics, and fabric preferences.
Mauritania Familiarity with regional dressing styles and modest fashion requirements. Understanding of culturally relevant color palettes, prints, and fabric selections.
Required Skills Strong creativity and design visualization skills. Excellent color sense and trend forecasting ability. Knowledge of textile printing techniques and embroidery developments. Strong understanding of fabric construction and garment aesthetics. Ability to create commercially viable export collections. Strong communication and presentation skills. Attention to detail and quality standards.
Technical Skills Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator CorelDRAW Textile CAD Software Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint AI-based Design Tools (preferred)
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Surface Design, or related field. NIFT, NID, Pearl Academy, or equivalent qualification preferred.
Experience 3–8 years of experience in Textile Design. Experience working with export houses, garment manufacturers, textile mills, or fashion brands. Prior experience designing for Middle East, African, or GCC markets is highly preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of successful collections developed. Buyer approval rate. Sample-to-order conversion rate. Design innovation and market acceptance. Timely collection development. Accuracy of artworks and production execution. Contribution to export business growth.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
