Job Summary
The Junior Quality Control Executive is responsible for inspecting and monitoring the quality of brass and silver jewellery throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves checking products at every production stage—from raw components to final finishing—to ensure they meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications. The candidate should have practical knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes, finishing techniques, and common quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections at every stage of jewellery production, including casting, filing, soldering, polishing, plating, stone setting (where applicable), and final finishing.
- Identify manufacturing defects such as scratches, dents, porosity, plating issues, improper solder joints, uneven polishing, size variations, and finish inconsistencies.
- Verify product dimensions, weight, design accuracy, and workmanship against approved samples and specifications.
- Ensure plating, polishing, and surface finish meet company quality standards.
- Inspect finished jewellery before packing and dispatch.
- Segregate defective products and coordinate with production teams for corrections or rework.
- Maintain quality inspection records and prepare daily QC reports.
- Communicate quality concerns promptly to supervisors and production departments.
- Support implementation of quality improvement initiatives to reduce rejection and rework.
- Ensure adherence to company quality procedures and customer requirements.
- Assist senior QC personnel during audits, customer inspections, and new product development.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of brass and silver jewellery manufacturing processes.
- Ability to identify common jewellery defects and quality issues.
- Knowledge of polishing, plating, finishing, and assembly standards.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, weighing scales, gauges, and magnifying lenses.
- Attention to detail with strong observation skills.
- Basic documentation and reporting skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under production timelines while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or ITI/Diploma (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in quality control within the brass and silver jewellery industry.
- Practical experience in jewellery inspection and finishing quality assessment.
