Job Overview
A Psychiatric Social Worker provides mental health support to patients dealing with emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. They work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and families to ensure holistic patient care and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial assessments of patients
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling
- Assist in diagnosis and treatment planning with the clinical team
- Support patients in coping with mental health conditions
- Educate patients and families about mental illness and recovery
- Maintain case records and documentation
- Coordinate rehabilitation, discharge planning, and follow-ups
- Connect patients with community resources and support services
Required Qualifications
- Master of Social Work (MSW) – preferably with specialization in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work
