An ETP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining an Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure wastewater is treated according to environmental and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor ETP equipment such as pumps, blowers, agitators, filters, clarifiers, and dosing systems.
- Check and record plant parameters (pH, flow rate, TSS, COD, BOD, dissolved oxygen, etc.).
- Collect wastewater samples and assist in laboratory testing.
- Prepare and dose treatment chemicals according to process requirements.
- Monitor sludge handling, dewatering, and disposal activities.
- Perform routine inspections and identify equipment malfunctions.
- Carry out basic maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
- Maintain daily logbooks, operational records, and compliance reports.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.

Required Skills
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
Understanding of pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation.
Ability to read operating procedures and maintain records.
Awareness of environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Educational Qualification
ITI/Diploma/B.Sc. (Chemistry, Environmental Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
Relevant ETP/STP operation experience is often preferred.
Typical Experience
1-2 years for junior roles.
3–5 years for senior ETP operator positions.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
