Hours: 4 hours/day, Monday to Friday (flexible scheduling possible)
Compensation: ₹12,000–₹15,000/month, based on skills, experience and portfolio
Type: Part-time, immediate joining preferred
Languages proficiency: English (required), Tamil (required), Malayalam (nice to have)
About the Opportunity
This is a unique part-time role that places you at the intersection of three mission-driven organisations working across education, community development, and non-profit advocacy. You will support the social media presence of an upcoming microschool, a community-focused organisation, and a non-profit foundation, giving you exposure to different audiences, tones, and content strategies within a single role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their creative career who wants to build a diverse portfolio while working closely with founders and leadership across all three organisations, learning how mission-driven work gets communicated to the public. You'll be given clear directions and content ideas by the leadership team - this role is about executing and growing your craft, not building strategy independently, though you are most welcome to suggest improvements and propose your own strategy as well.
What You'll Do
● Design creative posters, carousels, and infographics for Instagram and other platforms, using brand guidelines and templates provided by each organisation
● Edit short, simple reels and stories using mobile-friendly tools like Instagram Reels or CapCut
● Improve existing websites of the organisations and bring better aesthetics and functionality to them
● Follow an agreed posting calendar to keep each organisation's account active and consistent
● Take direction from each organisation's team on content ideas, updates, and stories to post, adapting tone accordingly
● Share basic engagement numbers (likes, views, follower count) periodically so leadership can track progress
Tools You'll Use
● Canva (primary design tool)
● Instagram native editing tools and Reels
● Web page development tools such as Wix & Wordpress.
● Comfortable with framing posts according to audience on various social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram etc)
● CapCut or similar video editing apps
● Basic familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or similar) is a plus
● Comfort with using Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar etc.) is required
What We're Looking For
● A strong eye for visual design and storytelling, even without formal design training
● Working knowledge of Canva and mobile-based content creation and editing tools
● Comfort with short-form video creation and editing
● Reliable and consistent with posting schedules, with regular guidance and check-ins from each organisation's team
● Genuine interest in education, community work, or the non-profit sector is a strong plus
● Prior experience managing social media for a brand, club, or personal creative page is welcome but not required
We especially welcome applications from freshers, early-career candidates, women returning to the workforce after a career break, and others looking for a flexible role to rebuild or grow their professional experience. If you're looking to build a real portfolio, learn how mission-driven organisations communicate, and grow under guidance rather than arrive fully formed, this role is designed with you in mind.
Why This Role
● Work directly with leadership across three different organisations broadening your portfolio
● Build a varied portfolio spanning education, community, and social impact content
● Flexible part-time hours suited to students, early-career creatives, career-break returners, or those balancing other commitments
● Room to grow into a larger role as the work and organisations expand
