Role Overview
The Counter Sales Executive is responsible for greeting customers, taking orders, handling billing, and maintaining the display counter. This role plays a key part in customer satisfaction, upselling products, and ensuring smooth day-to-day front-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product selection and recommendations
- Take orders accurately, including custom cake and bulk orders, and communicate them clearly to the kitchen team
- Operate the billing/POS system to process cash, card, and digital payments
- Maintain the display counter — arranging products attractively, restocking, and labeling with prices and allergen information
- Upsell and cross-sell products (e.g., suggesting add-ons, daily specials, or new items)
- Handle customer queries, feedback, and complaints politely and escalate when necessary
- Pack products neatly and safely for takeaway or delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the counter, display cases, and front-of-house area
- Monitor stock levels on display and coordinate with the kitchen for replenishment
- Manage pre-orders, reservations, and follow-ups (e.g., cake orders for events)
- Assist with opening/closing duties, including cash reconciliation and reporting
Table Service Guidelines
For customers dining in, ensure a smooth and pleasant seated experience by following these standards:
- Greet seated customers promptly and provide menus/display information if needed
- Take dine-in orders clearly, confirming items, quantities, and any customizations
- Serve food and beverages carefully, placing items from the customer's left where possible, and confirming the order is complete before leaving the table
- Check back within a few minutes of serving to ensure everything is satisfactory
- Clear used plates, cups, and trash promptly and unobtrusively, without interrupting conversation
- Wipe down and reset tables quickly after customers leave, including chairs and surrounding floor area
- Keep table linens (if any), condiment holders, and napkin dispensers stocked and clean
- Present the bill promptly when requested and process payment at the table if applicable
- Be attentive to customers who may need refills, extra napkins, or assistance, without hovering
- Maintain a calm, friendly demeanor even during peak hours or with multiple tables to manage
- Report any spills, breakages, or maintenance issues (wobbly chairs, etc.) immediately
Requirements
- Prior experience in retail, F&B, or customer-facing sales roles preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash/POS systems
- Pleasant, patient, and customer-first attitude
- Ability to multitask during busy hours while staying organized
- Good grooming and presentation standards
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shift-based hours
- Basic knowledge of bakery products is a plus (or willingness to learn)
Nice to Have
- Experience with order management or POS software
- Familiarity with social media/DM order handling
- Basic knowledge of food safety and allergen handling
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
