Job Purpose
To manage civil construction, infrastructure maintenance, project execution, contractor coordination, and facility development activities in the food manufacturing plant while ensuring quality, safety, compliance, and timely project completion.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Civil Project Execution
- Execute civil construction and infrastructure development projects within the plant.
- Supervise construction activities including:
- Building works
- Flooring works
- Drainage systems
- Roads & pathways
- Structural works
- Utility foundations
- Ensure project completion within timeline and budget.
2. Site Supervision
- Monitor daily site activities and contractor performance.
- Ensure work execution as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify material quality and workmanship standards.
- Conduct site inspections and progress monitoring.
3. Plant Infrastructure Maintenance
- Maintain plant civil infrastructure including:
- Production buildings
- Warehouses
- Office buildings
- Utility areas
- Internal roads
- Drainage systems
- Identify repair and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure proper upkeep of factory premises.
4. Contractor Management
- Coordinate with civil contractors and vendors.
- Verify contractor bills and work completion status.
- Ensure contractors follow safety and quality standards.
- Monitor manpower deployment and work progress.
5. Quantity Estimation & BOQ Preparation
- Prepare quantity estimation and BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
- Verify civil measurements and material consumption.
- Support budgeting and cost estimation activities.
- Maintain project costing records.
6. Quality Control
- Ensure construction quality as per industrial and food-grade standards.
- Monitor quality of:
- Concrete
- Steel
- Flooring
- Waterproofing
- Structural fabrication
- Ensure hygienic and food-safe infrastructure requirements.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure implementation of safety standards during civil work activities.
- Monitor work permits for:
- Height work
- Excavation work
- Hot work
- Ensure compliance with Factory Act and industrial construction safety norms.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation and site records.
- Prepare:
- Daily progress reports
- Material consumption reports
- Site inspection reports
- Contractor performance reports
- Maintain drawings and revision records.
9. Coordination with Departments
- Coordinate with:
- Production team
- Maintenance department
- EHS department
- Purchase team
- Project consultants
- Ensure smooth execution without affecting plant operations.
