The Zonal Recovery Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all debt recovery operations within a designated geographical zone. This role involves leading a team of recovery professionals, developing and implementing effective recovery strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and achieving ambitious recovery targets. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills, with a proven track record in managing large portfolios of non-performing assets.
- Develop, implement, and monitor robust recovery strategies and action plans for the assigned zone to maximize collections and minimize losses.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Area Recovery Managers and recovery officers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure target achievement.
- Set challenging yet achievable monthly, quarterly, and annual recovery targets for the zone and individual team members, and ensure consistent achievement.
- Monitor the performance of the recovery portfolio, analyze trends, identify high-risk accounts, and implement proactive measures to mitigate potential losses.
- Ensure strict adherence to all legal, regulatory, and internal compliance policies related to debt collection practices.
- Liaise with legal departments and external legal counsel for initiation and follow-up of legal actions against defaulters, including managing court cases and settlements.
- Negotiate complex repayment plans and settlements with high-value defaulters, ensuring optimal recovery for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external collection agencies, legal firms, and other stakeholders, managing their performance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare and present detailed recovery performance reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommended actions.
- Conduct regular field visits to understand ground realities, support team members, and resolve critical recovery challenges.
- Implement best practices in recovery operations, leveraging technology and innovative approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage operational costs within the allocated budget for the zonal recovery function.
