Job Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the complete jewellery manufacturing process to ensure products are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the company's quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, production planning, workforce management, cost control, and the ability to effectively manage urgent and high-priority production requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Management
- Plan, organize, and supervise the entire jewellery manufacturing process.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.
- Monitor workflow and optimize production efficiency.
- Coordinate with Sales, Merchandising, CAD, CAM, Casting, Manufacturing, QC, and Dispatch departments.
2. On-Time Delivery
- Ensure all customer orders are completed and dispatched according to committed delivery dates.
- Monitor production progress and proactively resolve delays.
- Prioritize production activities based on customer commitments and business requirements.
3. Quality Management
- Ensure every product meets the company's quality standards and customer specifications.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to minimize defects and rework.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
4. Disaster & Rush Order Management
- Effectively manage urgent, overloaded, and high-priority orders.
- Develop contingency plans to handle machine breakdowns, manpower shortages, and production bottlenecks.
- Reallocate resources and adjust schedules to minimize delivery risks.
- Ensure smooth production continuity during unexpected situations.
5. Cost Management
- Control manufacturing costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Reduce material wastage, production losses, and unnecessary expenses.
- Monitor labour productivity and machine utilization.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
6. Workforce Management
- Lead, motivate, and supervise production supervisors, artisans, operators, and workers.
- Allocate manpower according to production priorities.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, discipline, and performance.
- Identify training needs and develop employee skills.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
7. Inventory & Material Control
- Coordinate with the Stores department to ensure timely availability of gold, diamonds, gemstones, findings, consumables, and other production materials.
- Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) inventory.
- Prevent production delays caused by material shortages.
8. Process Improvement
- Analyze production data and identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices where applicable.
- Improve production efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
9. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturing procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain proper production records and documentation.
- Promote workplace safety and responsible handling of valuable materials.
10. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, delivery status, productivity, quality, and costs.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions when targets are not achieved.
- Present production updates to senior management.

Required Qualifications
- Experience in jewellery manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in production planning and team management.

The Production Manager has the authority to:
- Allocate production resources and manpower.
- Adjust production priorities to meet delivery commitments.
- Recommend overtime or additional shifts when required.
- Approve production schedules.
- Escalate operational risks affecting quality, cost, or delivery.
Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
