About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Purchase & Operations professional with deep expertise in the plastic additives industry. The ideal candidate should have an extensive supplier network, excellent commercial negotiation skills, and hands-on experience sourcing and managing a wide range of polymer additives.
This is a leadership role responsible for procurement, supplier development, inventory planning, operations coordination, and ensuring uninterrupted supply for a fast-growing specialty chemicals company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement of plastic additives including waxes, metallic stearates, antioxidants, UV stabilizers, processing aids, lubricants, coupling agents, silanes, impact modifiers, nucleating agents, flame retardants, fillers, pigments, and other specialty polymer additives.
- Develop and manage a strong domestic and international supplier network.
- Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, payment terms, contracts, MOQs, lead times, and annual supply agreements.
- Continuously identify alternate suppliers and improve procurement efficiency.
- Demonstrate excellent understanding of market pricing, supply-demand trends, availability, and raw material movements.
- Drive cost optimization while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
- Plan inventory to avoid stock-outs while minimizing working capital.
- Coordinate closely with sales, production, logistics, and finance to ensure timely order execution.
- Manage imports, exports, logistics, warehousing, and dispatch planning.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with suppliers across India and overseas.
- Improve procurement and operational processes to support business growth.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of proven experience in procurement and operations within the plastic additives industry.
- Must have hands-on experience sourcing and purchasing plastic additives.
- Strong knowledge of the Indian and global plastic additives market.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favourable commercial terms.
- Established supplier relationships across India and international markets.
- Strong understanding of import procurement and international sourcing.
- Ability to independently manage procurement, inventory, logistics, and operational coordination.
- Highly organized, commercially driven, and capable of working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Educational qualification is not a constraint for candidates with exceptional industry experience and a proven track record.
Compulsory Industry Background
Candidates from manufacturers, distributors, or trading companies dealing with plastic additives, specialty chemicals, polymer raw materials, or performance additives will be preferred.
