Role Overview
As a Video Editor Mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding our students through beginner to advanced levels of video editing, with a focus on Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. You'll mentor learners, evaluate their work, solve doubts, and help them build a portfolio that can land them real-world projects or placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct live mentorship sessions (online or offline) to guide students through creative and technical aspects of video editing.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on student assignments, projects, and edits.
- Help students improve storytelling, pacing, transitions, sound design, and motion graphics.
- Be available on WhatsApp groups/community platforms to clarify doubts, suggest improvements, and keep learners motivated.
- Evaluate final projects and submissions for certification eligibility.
- Inspire and instill professional discipline, client-readiness, and creative thinking.
- Share industry trends, real-life client examples, and workflow techniques.
- Occasionally assist in content development for learning materials (if needed).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in professional video editing.
- Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of editing theory, sound syncing, color grading, transitions, typography, and motion design.
- Prior mentoring, teaching, or team training experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and feedback skills – ability to explain complex concepts simply.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both creative and commercial work.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry tools, trends, formats (YouTube, Reels, Ads, etc.).
