We are seeking a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced Spanish Teacher to teach students in Grades 11 and 12 under the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in Spanish language instruction, intercultural awareness, and international education. The teacher will be responsible for fostering language proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking while cultivating a deeper understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures and global perspectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach Spanish language courses in accordance with IB and Cambridge curriculum frameworks.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that address all language skills:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Promote fluency, accuracy, and confidence in communication.
- Incorporate authentic Spanish-language resources, literature, media, and cultural materials.
- Foster inquiry-based, student-centered learning environments.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and abilities.
- Integrate educational technology and digital platforms into language learning.
IB & IGCSE Curriculum ResponsibilitiesIB Diploma Programme
- Teach IB Spanish courses at Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL).
- Prepare students for Internal Assessments (IA), oral examinations, and external examinations.
- Develop students' intercultural understanding and language acquisition skills.
- Guide students in independent research, oral presentations, and written assignments.
Cambridge IGCSE
- Prepare students for IGCSE Spanish examinations.
- Deliver instruction focused on grammar, vocabulary development, comprehension, and communication.
- Conduct examination preparation sessions, revision classes, and mock assessments.
- Support students in achieving high performance in all assessment components.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Monitor and record academic progress accurately.
- Prepare report cards, progress reports, and assessment documentation.
- Analyze student performance data to improve learning outcomes.
Student Development & Mentorship
- Encourage students to develop confidence in language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Support students in achieving academic and personal learning goals.
- Mentor students participating in language competitions, cultural events, and exchange programs.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Promote global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum review and development initiatives.
- Create innovative learning materials and classroom resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-cultural learning opportunities.
- Stay informed about developments in language education and international curricula.
- Contribute to academic planning and departmental improvement initiatives.
School & Professional Responsibilities
- Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Participate in school functions, cultural events, language clubs, and extracurricular activities.

QualificationsEssential Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, Teaching License, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience teaching Spanish at secondary or higher secondary levels.
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme and/or Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written Spanish.
- Strong command of English for instruction and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.
- IB-certified training in Spanish Language Acquisition.
- Cambridge International teaching experience.
- International school teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in online or blended learning environments.
- DELE certification or equivalent language qualification.
