Role Overview
The PLC/SCADA Programmer will be responsible for developing, testing, and commissioning automation control systems for industrial applications. The role demands strong technical expertise in PLC logic development, SCADA/HMI programming, troubleshooting, and site commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities - PLC Programming
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic for various automation applications (Honeywell, Schneider, ABB, etc.).
- Prepare PLC configurations, I/O lists, control logic, and function block diagrams.
- Conduct FAT/SAT for control systems based on project requirements.
SCADA / HMI Development
- Design and configure SCADA/HMI graphics, trends, alarms, and reports (Experion, WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware/AVEVA, Ignition, etc.).
- Implement communication protocols—Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC, etc.
- Ensure intuitive, operator-friendly visualization screens.
Commissioning & Testing
- Perform on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of PLC/SCADA systems.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, control panels, field devices, and communication issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams during start-up and handover.
Documentation & Support
- Prepare project documents: logic descriptions, I/O lists, test procedures, as-built drawings, and user manuals.
- Provide technical support to customers and the internal team.
- Maintain version control and documentation of all software changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in PLC & SCADA programming.
- Strong working knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi, etc.).
- Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, and control philosophies.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to travel for site work and commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in process automation, machine automation, or system integration.
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo systems, instrumentation, and control panel wiring.
- Familiarity with safety PLCs and SIL-rated systems.
- Hands-on experience with remote I/O systems and industrial networks.
