Core Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greeting, registering, and directing patients; answering questions; minimizing stress and anxiety.
- Scheduling: Booking lab tests, sample collections, and follow-ups; managing staff/provider calendars.
- Administrative Tasks: Answering phones, managing emails, data entry, filing, maintaining records, and preparing new patient charts.
- Financial/Insurance: Verifying insurance, explaining coverage, processing payments, and handling billing inquiries.
- Coordination: Liaising with referring providers and lab technicians; updating charts with test results or provider notes.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to HIPAA and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
Key Skills:
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, empathy, and a calm demeanor.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EHR/Practice Management software, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with medical terminology/codes
