Job Purpose
To ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, and to promote a safe working culture within the chemical manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Compliance
- Implement and monitor safety policies, procedures, and standards in line with statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Training & Awareness
- Organize safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Promote awareness of chemical hazards, emergency response, and safe handling practices.
- Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare reports and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for chemical spills, fires, and explosions.
- Coordinate mock drills and ensure readiness of firefighting and safety equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain safety records, permits, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Environmental preferred).
- Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent recognized certification (NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
- Knowledge of chemical process safety, Audits, HAZOP Study, HIRA, and PSM (Process Safety Management).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety laws.
- Ability to identify hazards and implement risk control measures.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in safety audit tools and reporting.
Experience
- 5 - 7 years of experience in industrial safety, preferably in chemical or process industries.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Reduction in workplace incidents
- and accidents.
- Compliance with statutory safety regulations.
- Effectiveness of safety training programs.
- Timely reporting and closure of corrective actions.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
