Role Overview
We are looking for a creative and commercially driven Fashion Designer who understands affordable fashion and can translate the latest trends into wearable, market-ready products. The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for design, fabric, colors, prints, and silhouettes while keeping product cost, customer preferences, and commercial viability in mind.
This role requires someone who can design across menswear, womenswear, and kidswear categories and develop collections that are trendy, scalable, and aligned with DEERPATCH's value-fashion positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Research global and local fashion trends, colors, prints, fabrics, and silhouettes.
- Create seasonal collections for men's, women's, and kids' casual wear.
- Develop mood boards, color stories, trend presentations, and collection concepts.
- Design commercially viable products that meet target price points under ₹999.
- Create sketches, CADs, tech packs, artwork, print developments, and design specifications.
- Work closely with sourcing, merchandising, production, and vendor teams to ensure designs are production-friendly and cost-effective.
- Select fabrics, trims, washes, prints, and embellishments suitable for value-fashion retail.
- Review samples, fittings, and proto developments and provide design corrections.
- Track market trends, competitor products, and customer buying patterns.
- Ensure collections balance fashion, comfort, quality, and affordability.
- Support product launches and seasonal assortment planning.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in casual wear, value fashion, or mass-market apparel brands.
- Experience designing for menswear, womenswear, or kidswear categories.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fits, and printing techniques.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and design software.
- Ability to convert fashion trends into commercially successful products.
- Strong knowledge of retail price engineering and cost-conscious design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Profile
- Experience working with fast-fashion or value-fashion brands.
- Strong understanding of the Indian apparel market and consumer preferences.
- Ability to design high-volume products with strong sell-through potential.
- Passion for creating trend-driven fashion at accessible price points.
