Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain Management (Post-Harvest Commodities)

We partner with farmers, FPOs, cooperatives, traders, processors, and institutional buyers to build efficient and transparent agricultural supply chains.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Manager – Procurement & Supply Chain Management to lead procurement operations and optimize the end-to-end supply chain for post-harvest agricultural commodities such as Makhana, Maize, Pulses, Millets, Fruits, Vegetables, and other agri-produce.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for post-harvest agricultural commodities.
- Build and manage sourcing networks with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), aggregators, traders, cooperatives, and processors.
- Negotiate procurement contracts, pricing, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
Supply Chain Management
- Plan and monitor end-to-end supply chain operations from farm gate to buyers.
- Coordinate logistics, warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and dispatch.
- Minimize post-harvest losses through efficient handling and storage practices.
- Develop systems for demand forecasting and procurement planning.
Quality & Compliance
- Establish quality control procedures for commodity procurement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, procurement policies, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor grading, sorting, packaging, and traceability systems.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Develop long-term relationships with suppliers and institutional partners.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and vendor development initiatives.
- Coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and development partners where required.
Data & Reporting
- Track procurement volumes, inventory, procurement costs, and supply chain KPIs.
- Prepare MIS reports, procurement dashboards, and management reports.
- Utilize ERP, procurement software, or digital platforms for operational efficiency.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor procurement and field operations teams.
- Ensure achievement of procurement targets and operational excellence.
- Conduct training programs for field procurement staff and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Rural Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Master's degree (MBA/PGDM in Agribusiness, Supply Chain, Operations, or Rural Management) will be preferred.
Experience
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement, agricultural supply chain, commodity sourcing, warehouse operations, or post-harvest management.
- Experience working with agricultural commodities, FPOs, cooperatives, agritech companies, food processing companies, or commodity trading organizations.
- Prior experience in Bihar or eastern India will be an added advantage.
