Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Fashion Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the full design lifecycle-from trend research, initial sketching, sample development and production tracking. You will work closely with senior designers, product developers, and pattern makers. You should have good knowledge of colour, composition and textile.
Key Responsibilities
- Trend Research: Perform market research on global and retail trends, color palettes, fabric innovations, and competitive brands to assist with seasonal concept development.
- Tech Pack Creation: Build and maintain comprehensive tech packs, ensuring all technical sketches, measurement charts, material specifications, and trim details are highly accurate.
- Sampling & Fittings: Attend and document fit sessions, taking precise notes on construction changes and aesthetic adjustments.
- Vendor Communication: Assist in daily communication with manufacturing partners and vendors to track sample timelines and clarify design specs.
- Team Collaboration: Support the creation of seasonal presentation elements, including mood boards, fabric boards, and line sheets.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Design or a related field.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in apparel design (prior internships or assistant designer roles are highly valued).
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop) and standard office programs (Excel/Google Sheets).
- Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of garment construction, pattern making, fabric drape, and raw materials.
- Work Style: Exceptional attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills, and the agility to switch tasks smoothly in a deadline-driven setting.
