As we continue to grow, we are building our sales function from the ground up to win new SMB and mid-market clients across the US and Europe. This is a foundational sales role that offers the opportunity to work directly with the founder and help shape Mallow's go-to-market strategy.
The Role
As our first dedicated sales professional, you will own the top and middle of the sales funnel and partner closely with the founder to drive deal closures.
You will identify and research target accounts across the US and Europe, execute personalized outbound campaigns through email, LinkedIn, and calls, qualify opportunities, lead initial discovery conversations, and collaborate on closing custom software development engagements.
Typical deal sizes range from $25K to $250K, with a strong focus on building long-term client relationships and recurring business. This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch opportunity for someone who enjoys creating opportunities rather than inheriting an existing pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and refine the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) in collaboration with the founder.
- Build and manage target account lists within SMB and mid-market segments across the US and Europe.
- Execute personalized outbound sales campaigns through cold emails, LinkedIn outreach, and phone calls.
- Maintain disciplined follow-up processes and sales cadences.
- Qualify opportunities by assessing business needs, budget, timeline, stakeholders, and decision-making processes.
- Lead initial discovery discussions and collaborate with the founder to shape software solutions.
- Prepare proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs), initially with support and independently as you ramp up.
- Drive opportunities through the sales cycle to contract signature.
- Maintain CRM hygiene, pipeline visibility, accurate forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure smooth handoff of signed clients to delivery teams.
- Act as the commercial point of contact for renewals, upselling, and account expansion opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 4-7 years of B2B sales experience.
- Minimum 2 years selling IT services, software development services, staff augmentation, or consulting services (not solely SaaS products).
- Proven success generating pipeline through outbound prospecting and cold outreach.
Skills & Working Style
- Experience selling to clients in the US and/or Europe.
- Comfortable working an evening shift aligned to US and European time zones (approximately 3pm to 12am IST).
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong technical understanding of software development projects, estimation, and solution discussions.
- Consultative sales approach with experience handling complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Self-driven mindset with the ability to operate independently in an evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with India-based software services companies serving international markets.
- Existing network within target industries or geographies.
- Hands-on experience with sales tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Lemlist, Instantly, HubSpot, or Pipedrive.
Compensation
- Fixed salary: ₹15-18 LPA
- Variable pay linked to deal value
