Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible, skilled, and compassionate Ambulance Driver with 2–5 years of driving experience, preferably in ambulance or emergency medical transport services. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and timely transportation of patients while maintaining the ambulance in excellent operating condition. The candidate must demonstrate professionalism, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate ambulances for emergency and non-emergency patient transportation.
- Ensure prompt and efficient transportation of patients to hospitals, healthcare facilities, or other designated locations.
- Assist medical staff with loading and unloading patients when required.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the ambulance is clean, roadworthy, and fully equipped.
- Maintain vehicle logs, fuel records, and transportation documentation accurately.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and emergency driving guidelines.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Ensure all emergency equipment is properly secured and available for use.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, healthcare professionals, and dispatch teams.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls while maintaining the highest standards of safety and patient care.
- Adhere to company policies, infection control procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of professional driving experience; prior ambulance or healthcare transportation experience is preferred.
- Valid Heavy/Light Motor Vehicle Driving License (as applicable under local regulations).
- Clean driving record with thorough knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physically fit and capable of assisting with patient movement when required.
