Position description: Jindal Stainless Limited, a leading entity in the Mining & Metals industry, is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Mechanical Department. This role demands a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing mechanical operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage a team of engineers and technicians, coordinate maintenance activities, and implement best practices to optimize plant performance while adhering to safety and environmental standards. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems within heavy industrial settings and the ability to align mechanical functions with the company’s operational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment and systems within the plant.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and safety departments to ensure mechanical operations comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the planning and execution of mechanical projects, including equipment installation, upgrades, and modifications.
- Analyze mechanical system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage budgeting, procurement, and inventory control for mechanical spare parts and tools to optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies in all mechanical activities and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process optimization and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for senior management on mechanical department performance and project status.
- Mentor and develop mechanical engineering staff to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
