Responsibilities
- Media preparation and sterilization
- Inoculation and sub-culturing
- Contamination control and monitoring
- Culture room management
- Multiplication, rooting and hardening process
- Record keeping and inventory management
- Production of ornamental and fruit plant tissue cultures
- Independently manage day-to-day lab operations
These responsibilities align with common commercial tissue culture technician roles, including media preparation, sterile culture handling, contamination control, inventory management, and record keeping.
Requirements
- Experience in Plant Tissue Culture Lab is mandatory
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and contamination management
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with ornamental plants and fruit plants preferred
- Basic knowledge of media preparation and lab equipment handling
Preferred Qualification
- B.Sc./M.Sc. Biotechnology
- B.Sc./M.Sc. Microbiology
- B.Sc. Agriculture / Horticulture
- Relevant tissue culture lab experience
Note: We are restarting and expanding our tissue culture facility. Initially one experienced technician will manage operations, with opportunities to lead a larger team as production scales up.
