Job Description – Physician Assistant (PA), Vascular Department
- Job Title: Physician Assistant – Vascular Surgery
- Department: Medical Services
- Reports To: Vascular Surgeon & Head - Medical Services
- Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
- Provide advanced clinical care to vascular patients.
- Conduct detailed patient history and physical examinations.
- Evaluate vascular conditions (PAD, DVT, aneurysms, carotid disease).
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (ultrasound, CTA, labs).
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons.
- Assist in vascular surgical procedures in the OR.
- Perform minor bedside procedures as authorized.
- Provide pre-operative assessments and clearances.
- Deliver post-operative care and monitor recovery.
- Conduct daily inpatient rounds.
- Manage wound care and vascular access sites.
- Provide outpatient follow-up consultations.
- Educate patients on disease management and prevention.
- Prescribe medications per scope of practice.
- Document all patient encounters in EMR.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Coordinate care with nursing and allied health teams.
- Respond to vascular consults and emergencies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Provide on-call coverage as required.
- Maintain active PA licensure and certifications (NCCPA, BLS, ACLS).
- Stay updated with vascular care guidelines and best practices.
- Contribute to a high-quality, patient-centered care environment.
