Role overview
An experienced SAP Procure-to-Pay lead consultant is required with deep expertise across SAP MM, SAP Ariba, and SAP Ariba Contracts to lead complex sourcing and procurement solution delivery spanning strategic sourcing, contract lifecycle management, operational buying, supplier onboarding, invoice collaboration, inventory integration, and enterprise procurement governance for a global dairy and nutrition business. The role extends beyond configuration and support into process harmonization, solution architecture, transformation governance, control design, and optimization of end-to-end source-to-contract and procure-to-pay processes across ECC and S/4HANA-oriented landscapes.
The consultant is expected to function as a senior functional lead across business, IT, shared services, and vendor teams, combining deep hands-on knowledge of SAP procurement platforms with leadership in design authority, integration orchestration, release planning, cutover management, hypercare, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
§ Own end-to-end process design across sourcing, supplier selection, contract authoring, approval workflows, operational procurement, goods movements, service procurement, invoice collaboration, exception management, and supplier performance enablement.
§ Lead advanced SAP MM configuration including purchasing document types, release strategies, account assignment, split valuation, subcontracting, consignment, stock transport, source determination, quota arrangements, MRP integration, batch management, and logistics invoice verification.
§ Drive SAP Ariba solution ownership across Sourcing, Contracts, Buying and Invoicing, Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, and Ariba Network-enabled collaboration with suppliers and external partners.
§ Lead enterprise-grade SAP Ariba Contracts design including contract workspaces, clause libraries, template governance, approval matrices, obligation visibility, metadata standards, and integration of sourcing awards into downstream contracting and procurement processes.
§ Own MM ↔ Ariba ↔ S/4HANA or ECC integration architecture through Ariba CIG, IDoc, master-data synchronization, transactional reconciliation, error handling, and control monitoring for supplier, sourcing, PO, receipt, service entry, and invoice data flows.
§ Support complex procurement scenarios covering raw-milk and grain intake, ingredients, packaging materials, indirect procurement, MRO, service procurement, subcontracting, toll manufacturing support, and intercompany purchasing.
§ Act as the primary functional escalation point for production-critical incidents, invoice mismatches, supplier collaboration failures, blocked procurement flows, and cross-system reconciliation issues, using structured root-cause analysis and preventive action tracking.
§ Prepare detailed functional specifications for RICEFW objects, workflow requirements, forms, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and data migration or conversion needs; govern quality across technical, integration, and security teams.
§ Lead fit-gap workshops, design reviews, SIT, UAT, regression cycles, cutover rehearsals, deployment readiness, hypercare command-center activities, and transition into steady-state support.
§ Partner with procurement leadership, plant operations, finance, legal, supplier management, and shared services teams to define process standards, governance controls, approval models, KPI frameworks, and compliance-aligned buying practices.
§ Support strategic programmes such as ECC-to-S/4HANA migration, procurement process standardization, Ariba expansion, supplier enablement, buying-channel rationalization, and contract compliance improvement.
§ Mentor junior consultants and analysts, review solution designs, establish documentation and governance standards, and provide leadership in workshops, steering discussions, and solution decision forums.
